چکیده

گستردگی و عظمت واقعه عاشورا و برجستگی شخصیت‌های این مقطع از تاریخ، به‌ویژه سلسله‌جنبان این حادثه با شکوه، حسین‌بن علی(ع)، موجب می‌شود در تشریح حوادث و وقایع عاشورا از سطح فراتر رویم و در باطن و روح اعمال و اقوال این بزرگان اندیشه کنیم. یکی از دیدگاه‌هایی که می‌شود از طریق آن این حادثه را واکاوی کرد، دیدگاه عرفانی است. در پرتو این نگاه، بسیاری از اعمال، اقوال و حوادثْ رنگ و معنایی دیگر به‌خود می‌گیرند؛ به‌گونه‌ای که این جنگ خونین از میان هزاران نبرد سهمگینی که در طول تاریخ رخ داده است، متمایز می‌شود و از سطح حادثه‌ای تاریخی به سطح مکتبی فکری و عرفانی ارتقا می‌یابد.
هرچند در متون و اشعار فارسی، نگاه عرفانی به واقعه عاشورا کم‌رنگ‌تر از نگاه تاریخی و عاطفی است، تأمل بر این بخش از اشعار و متون، و یافتن ظرایف و دقایق موجود در آن‌ها، بسیار دلنشین و قابل توجه است. در این مقاله، نمادهای «تشنگی» و «عطش» در روز عاشورا، از منظر عرفانی و به‌طور خاص، از نگاه عمان سامانی و صفی‌علیشاه بررسی می‌شود

The immensity of the event of Āshūrā and the prominence of its figures, particularly Imam Hossein, demand surpassing the superficial considerations and contemplating in the spirit of their deeds and sayings. Mystical point of view is a possible approach to this event. It gives it a different color and distinguishes it from the many other dreadful battles throughout the history by elevating it to the level of a school of thought and mysticism.
In Persian literature the mystical approach to the event of Āshūrā is attenuated in respect to the historical and emotional approaches, but it certainly worth a deeper and more precise analysis. In this essay the symbols of thirst and water are analyzed from the mystical point of view, chiefly the viewpoints of Oman Samani and Safi Ali Shah.
