Abstract

Imam Abd al-Karim ibn Hawazin Qushayri (376-405 A.H.) is one of the greatest scholars, mystics and theologians of the fifth century A.H. Many works are attributed to him. His most important mystical work is “al-Risala al-Qushayriyya” which has constantly been preferred by mystics and Sufis of both his time and after him. One of the greatest Kurd mystics and scholars in the tenth century A.H., Sayyed Mohammad Hassan known as Mossannef (909-1014 A.H.) who has written many books, has a work named as Seraj al-Tarig; this book, with Islamic mystic content, seems to have been influenced by al-Risala al-Qushayriyya.
The writer in this article which has been done by analytical descriptive method using library references tends to compare the two works and investigate the degree of Seraj al-Tarigh’s impressiveness of al-Risala al-Qushayriyya. It can be concluded that Seraj al-Tarigh is a paraphrase of al-Risala al-Qushayriyya.
